Sasso Marconi (BO) – It was a long day of celebration – and it couldn’t have been otherwise – that was celebrated last November 10th at the Sala Cometa in Sasso Marconi, which for some years now has been the meeting place for the final awards of the Deltos Cup . The one who is now a dean of the Italian circuits, this year was not alone, and the celebration was not only double… but even triple.
During the long day of Sunday, the protagonists of the newly formed Biciscout Cup also took turns on stage, as did the budding riders who lit up Saturday afternoons following the Deltos Baby Scout circuit. The little ones got the party started already in the morning, collecting applause and photos from grandparents, parents and friends. A large group of children – from the G1 to G6 category of the Italian Cycling Federation – coming not only from Emilia Romagna, but also from outside the region.
After lunch it was the turn of the masters, equally divided between the Deltos Cup and the Biciscout Cup, with many riders who went up and down the stage – called by the voice of Silvio Mevio, official speaker of the Green Devils Team – to collect what they had won in one or both circuits, such as Matteo Ciocci (Vernia Bike Team) and Davide Flaccadori (Team 13 Key Cmx), who made a plethora of Vifra-branded jerseys.
Vifra , a leading company in Made in Italy technical clothing, which also received thanks from Massimo Cipriani, triple patron of the circuits, who did not fail to remember those who support the events. “The first thanks go to Deltos , and to Alessandra Marchesi of Biciscout , as naming partner of the circuits. In addition to Vifra, which has been dressing our leaders since 2021, thanks also go to Lee Cougan , our technical partner”.
On the stage of the Sala Cometa there was also space for the teams, always super colorful and super numerous, with the IEMA MTB Team taking back the sceptre of the Biciscout Cup, and the Vernia Bike Team repeating the title in the Deltos Cup.
At the end of the day, it was patron Cipriani himself who revealed the plans for 2025 , in which the same formula will be maintained: not one, but two circuits of six events each, with three stages in common, namely those in Romagna.
In the Deltos Cup the “new entry” is the GF Terre del Sangiovese of Bertinoro : quotation marks are a must because it is a welcome return, after a year in which it awarded points only for the Biciscout Cup. There are two new entries in the Biciscout Cup, both in the Veneto region: the Granfondo Città di Chiampo – Durona Bike of Chiampo (VI), which will celebrate its eighth edition in 2025, and the MonTel Bike of Volpago del Montello (TV), along those paths that have made the history of Italian mountain biking and that the Pavarello Racing Team wanted to relaunch.
